Provide your details
+ Enter your IRD number, this is a number that is unique to you and will be either 8 or 9 numbers.
+ Enter your personal details such as your residential address, phone number and email address. We need these details so that we can verify your identity and contact you if their is any problems with your refund.

+ Select an option to confirm your identity.
+ If you have a current New Zealand drivers licence you enter the details exactly as they appear on your licence. If you do not have a New Zealand Drivers Licence you may choose one of the other forms and enter the ID number.

Answer some important questions
+ We need you to answer some questions such as if you have dependent children, you have a student loan or were a high school student in the last 5 years.
+ We need this information in order to calculate an accurate refund for you.
+ You will also be able to add any other information that you would like us to know such as additional income earned or expenses incurred. -
Agree to Our Terms & Conditions
+ Once you agree to our T&C’s yourtaxback.co.nz will be authorised to act as your tax agent and calculate any refund due.
+ Once we have calculated any refund due yourtaxback.co.nz will request these amounts from the IRD and pay the refund less our fee to you within 7 working days.
+ 7 day refund does not apply during the 2012 tax refund season (May – July 2012). -
Do I have to request a Personal Tax Summary (PTS)?
Our customers need to be aware that some taxpayers who don’t automatically receive a PTS are required to request one.
We, as your tax agent, must request a PTS on your behalf if any of the following situations apply to you:
If any of the above situations apply to you, we will let you know your obligation to file and advise that this action could result in further tax to pay. However, we will not file any PTS on your behalf until you give us the go ahead.We must request a PTS on your behalf if you: And you received more than $200 of: received income from $48,001 to $70,000 interest taxed at less than 33%. received income over $70,000 interest or dividends taxed at less than 33%. received income over $48,000 taxable Māori authority distributions. paid child support through Inland Revenue interest, dividends or taxable Māori authority distributions. have a student loan and earned over the repayment threshold of $19,084 (for the 2010 and 2011 tax years) interest, dividends or taxable Māori authority distributions. -

We will not process a tax refund application or link a person who is under 16 years old.

Fees
At yourtaxback.co.nz we offer the lowest rates for filing your tax refund in New Zealand. Our fee is only 15% of the refund to a maximum of $500 per return, with a minimum fee of $10 per return. If an IR3 Individual Tax Return is required a $75 minimum fee applies. Fees are automatically deducted from the tax refund with no money up front. NO TAX REFUND NO FEE THAT’S OUR GUARANTEE.

A. Yes. yourtaxback.co.nz takes client confidentiality very seriously, we will not disclose your information to any third parties without your express consent, unless required to by law. All client information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. -
Q. How long will it take for yourtaxback.co.nz to know if I am due a refund from the IRD?
A. Usually within two working days, we will email you to let me know if you are due a refund and how much. -
Q. What is my chance of getting a refund?
A. If you earned a salary or wage in the last five years, chances are that you could be owed a refund. Those who have worked more than one job, earned under certain IRD set income levels, or been employed seasonally are more likely to receive a refund. -
Q. Why would the refund I receive be different to that calculated by yourtaxback.co.nz?
A. The IRD may revise your refund from the amount calculated by yourtaxback.co.nz for the following reasons:
Student loan arrears,
Non-custodial parent arrears,
Child rebates that were disallowed,
Non-resident for part of the year,
Other taxation arrears,
Incorrect interest details provided to yourtaxback.co.nz, and
Other information available to the IRD, not known by yourtaxback.co.nz
The IRD when processing your return may deduct any arrears, they do this automatically and this is beyond the control of yourtaxback.co.nz. The IRD will notify us if they do this, and we will pass this information onto you.

Q. What happens if I owe the IRD money?
A. yourtaxback.co.nz operates a No Refund No Fee policy. We only request details from the IRD in the years that you are owed a tax refund, if you have tax to pay in a certain year we will not request the details for that year. Our guarantee is that you will not end up with a tax bill using our service. -
Q. What does it cost for yourtaxback.co.nz to calculate and claim my refund?
A. If we calculate that you are owed a refund, yourtaxback.co.nz has the cheapest filing fees for this service in New Zealand. Our filing fee is 15% of the refund up to a maximum of $500 per return, with a minimum fee of $10 per return. Our fee is automatically deducted from your refund, if there is no refund, then there is no fee. -

A. yourtaxback.co.nz usually receives your refund from the IRD within 15 working days, but this depends on the IRD. We will then pay your refund to you less our fee for preparing the return. -
Q. What if I already have a tax agent?
A. If you engage yourtaxback.co.nz to calculate and file a return on your behalf, we will automatically become your new tax agent when we process your refund. -
Q. Is yourtaxback.co.nz part of the IRD?
A. No. yourtaxback.co.nz is separate from the IRD. We are IRD approved tax agents, we work for you, not the IRD. We work with the IRD to offer streamlined services and are certified by the IRD to E-file returns. -
Q. Who can claim a School Student Tax Rebate
A. Children who are under the age of 15, or under the age of 19 and still at school may be eligible to receive a child tax rebate. If you have been working part time throughout the year, it is quite likely that you will receive an income tax refund, particularly if you are eligible for the child tax rebate which allows you to earn up to $2,340 (less interest & dividends) per year tax free.
